Issues * When using Universal ScatterProof, your login must be a member of the Local Administrators Group. * Depending on the speed of your computer, you may encounter a ‘Switch to’ message. This is a timing issue between Universal ScatterProof and Acrobat. Press ‘Try Again’ until the message disappears. Turning on HyperThreading in your computer BIOS, may reduce the frequency of this error. * Postscript Issues: * Some Separated Postscript files will be treated as multipage files. You can predict which files will be treated as multipage by creating a PDF of the file and then looking at the Page Number area in Acrobat. This type of Page Number area indicates a file that will be treated as multipage. This type of Page Number area indicates a file that will process correctly in Universal ScatterProof. * Separated Postscript files that have been printed with multiple copies from the originating application, will not process in Universal ScatterProof. * PDF Issues: * Some PDF files created from Separated Postscript files will be treated as multipage files. You can predict which files will be treated as multipage by looking at the Page Number area in Acrobat. This type of Page Number area indicates a file that will be treated as multipage. This type of Page Number area indicates a file that will process correctly in Universal ScatterProof. * EPS Issues: * Photoshop Duotone, Tritone, or Quadtone EPS files are not supported. If you require these files to be processed directly into Universal ScatterProof, please resave them out of Photoshop as DCS files. * DCS Issues: * Quit All Virus software prior to using Universal ScatterProof. If not, you may encounter the following error: “Unable to process the job YYY. Job moved to failed folder.” when processing DCS files. * Some DCS files may have a blank or grayscale preview in the Library, Layout or TIFF Preview file, but they will print correctly. * DCS multipart files may not process as separated files when added manually. To avoid this, always process DCS multipart files with an Input Hot Folder. * TIFF Issues: * 16-bit TIFF files are not supported * TIFF files with Alpha channels are not supported * TIFF files saved as Indexed Color, Lab Color, or Multichannel are not supported * ‘Cleaning’ does not happen until the application is quit or the user stops activity and manually selects the ‘Clean Now’ button. * Files with Spot colors may not preview correctly in the Library, Layout or TIFF Preview file, but they will print correctly. * Color Mapping Issues: * For composite files, Color Mapping a Process color (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, or Black) to another color does not work. * For composite files, Color Mapping of Pantone colors is unreliable when the Pantone color is on the input side of the map. Example 1: PANTONE Reflex Blue CVC maps to PANTONE Reflex Blue CV may not work. Example 2: PANTONE Reflex Blue CVC maps to Blue may not work. Example 3: Gold to Pantone Reflex Blue CVC works OK. * KODAK APPROVAL RIP-A Software does not recognize the color mapping on composite files from Universal ScatterProof. * The color list in the Color Mapping database is not case sensitive. For Example: PANTONE = Pantone = pantone
