Printing to Approval HQ Rip from ArtPro 6.0

  1. In the Macintosh chooser, select the desired printer driver, Approval device and ppd.
  2. In the ArtPro application (or ArtPrinter), open the Print window (File > Print . . .).
  3. Click the Page Setup button. A standard LaserWriter window appears. Select the desired paper size for your Approval (i.e., Maximum Image, Vertical Control Strip, etc.). Click OK.
  4. To print separated PostScript, set the options in the ArtPro Print window as shown:
  5. Notes:

The Paper Size setting defines the dimensions of the output. By selecting "from Page Setup," the paper size selected in the Page Setup window (i.e., Maximum Image) is used.

Select the Orientation that will best fit the paper size for your Approval.

Vignette Resolution and Noise for Vignettes: ArtPro converts vignettes into images upon output. For Approval, use the same value used for output to plate or imagesetter. (Standard resolution and noise for imagesetters is 150 dpi and 1%.)

If Tiling is necessary for an oversize job, we recommend using Clip Rectangle. Click on the Rectangle button to define the tile dimensions. Print as many individual tiles as needed. Refer to the ArtPro user guide for more information.

  6. Click on the More Settings button. The print settings window appears.
  7. In the Page tab, none of the settings is enabled. (This is correct)
