| Embedding a Profile in a Picture Without Processing |
Whenever you process pictures in ImageMapper, the final profile used during the processing sequence is embedded in the picture file. This simply means that the profile information is included as special metadata that travels along with the image data in the picture file.
Having the profile embedded provides a useful reference to anyone who might be doing further processing your pictures in a later workflow step. Other users can look for the embedded profile to know which profile was last used in the processing chain. If further processing is required, the embedded profile can then be used as the new source profile. Many important software imaging applications (including ImageMapper) allow the user to designate whether to automatically use an embedded profile for processing, if one is found.
In all ImageMapper workflows, embedding of the final profile in the chain happens automatically.
The way to embed a profile in an image without altering the pixel data is to simply make the source profile and the destination profile identical. To do this, use one of the following methods, depending on the workflow you are using.

If you are making a new profile that you want to embed (Input Profile Assistant)
If you want to embed a supplied or previously-made profile (Remap Pictures...)
